Rain or shine, You're a friend of mine!

Happy Friday!  Long time no blog!  Between being insanely busy these last few weeks of summer and being in bed for 2 days straight, I've fallen a bit behind in crafting and my mojo has gone a flowing in the breeze!
Hopefully you've been over to the Deedee's Digi Crafting Challenge Blog and played along with this weeks challenge:  Green and Brown, one of my all time fave color combos!  You can find the challenge and upload your card HERE!  Remember to use one of Deedee's digis - she has an entire section of $1.00 digis!

My card is heading off very soon to a friend who I think could use a little pick-me-up :)   Although she doesn't stop by my blog very often, I think of her muchly and wanted her to know that she'll always have a prayer warrior by her side ~ rain or shine, she's a friend of mine! (that's one of the sentiments in the set, btw!)   I added a sentiment that's actually from another Deedee's digi set called "Wishing Well" - another added beauty of digi sets - you can mix and match to your heart's desire!

I'm seriously babbling, lol!  Blame it on the medications, hee hee!  Or lack of Starbucks!  I'm on a dr's orders of absolutely no caffeine whatsoever, not even a sip, step AWAY from the S'Bux order and I'm soooooo not lovin' it! >:(

Big hugs - see you back on Sunday with a TGF's party card!

Sending a little Baby Love :)

Good morning to all ~ I hope today brings you many blessings :)   I'm so lucky today is my turn to post to the crafting blog at Deedee's digis ~ that's always a treat!  My card for you today is using her brand new set "It's a Boy!", a charming set of six digis for only $3.00!

A wonderful friend of mine recently learned that the first grandbaby-to-be that her son and daughter-in-law are expecting is a sweet baby boy!   I was so excited to have this set to use, and new right away that I wanted to use the "triple threat" sketch pattern (I am searching frantically to remember where I saw that sketch to link to the blog for proper accolades!)   Originally I was leaning towards an all blue card, but the Sweet Always colors of the dsp just jumped out at me.  (and the chance to use the new Marina Mist proved to be too much!)  I added three of the images that come with this set "faux screening" them to the onesie, which is the beauty of digis ~ the ability to layer!  The onesies are propped up on 3D dots, although it's a little hard to see :)

TFL and remember to check out the Challenge blog!  The cards are a real treat and you have a chance at a free digi if you enter/win in the Crafting Challenge Blog challenge - hop on over and take a peek!  x0x0

Blessings!

Haiku Bunny hopping to a friend :)

Wow! It's Friday already ~ I can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by.  And what a whopper of a storm we had last night and this morning with Tropical Storm Bonnie - massive rains, our pool overflowed and the ground had inches of rain when I took the poor doggies out :x

Today's card is a long overdue post of a card I made awhile back for my dear friend Paola's Asian card swap - one I missed, sadly, when my dh fell ill and ended up in the hospital.  I still wanted to send my sunshine friend her hostess card anyway, unless she hosts a 2nd Asian swap and then I'll be first!  Hee hee! :)

I created this faux pocket card (not sure if that's for real, I just made it up since I invented a few different folds for this, lol)  using my beloved Haiku Bunny stamp - loved so much it had never seen ink in the 2 years I've owned it!  Dh saw me admiring this one day and it's been super hard to find - in fact, this sold for over $300.00 on ebay once!  Insane, I tell ya!  And one day, while surfing the net, there it was on a site that I bought my treasured Kodomo stamps from (you may remember my Asian Kit-Cat card post with my other kittens!)  They had a few left in stock for less than $11.00 - ohh that poor ebayer! :(   Dh bought it instantly for me without me even asking - I nearly cried.  He said it was for my birthday that was 2 weeks away but it's just the way he is always so kind and  thoughtful - he truly has a beautiful soul.
And he was the inspiration behind putting this card together - it came together so easily and without struggling for once!

And that's the tale of the Haiku Bunny that is now hopping is way to Canada :)

Bringing a Special Post Today: Cuties for a Cure :*)

Cuties for a Cure: Digi Stamp Set

Hello friends ~  This post will be long and with many, many pictures so I hope you have the chance to sit and read awhile :)

I wanted to show you a VERY SPECIAL digi stamp set just released today by Deedee's Digis ~ it's called Cuties for a Cure.  This set contains 12 of the most adorable little digi inchies and yes, they are all 1"!  They are designed for mini cards or fitting into smaller punched out areas ~ I was feeling quite ambitious tonight and made all 12 :)  And the most generous and wonderous part of this lovely Cuties for a Cure set is the proceeds are being donated to charity: National Childhood Cancer Foundation ~ as stated here.  Such an amazing purchase for only $3.00 and for such a terrific cause :)

Sadly, cancer has touched the lives of many families.  In fact, my sweet dad lost his battle to cancer 4 years ago .... and his birthday would have been this Saturday  :(  It's been a tough week for me and I've been dreading this day approaching.  But to have a child going through the trials and tribulalations of cancer, there simply are no words for that pain and anguish.  Yet somehow the smallest gestures, like sending a little card and note in the mail to brighten their day, really can make a world of difference.

Since this was a big group, I hope this makes viewing a little easier :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you get the chance to stop on over to Deedee's Digis and pick up a set of these charming inchies ~ 12 stamps for $3.00 - and proceeds are donated to NCCF.

   Blessings to you,
   xoxoxo

"Make mine a Triple!" :)

The kids and I have been spending a lot of time enjoying the wonders of summer, mostly at the beach :)  Last week, after being at the beach for quite some hours, I told the kids we'd stop for ice cream on the way home.   It was so cute to see my son dash up to the counter and say "Make mine a triple!!" :)   Being his mom, and knowing even the kid's cup is more than sufficient, he settled for a really cool baseball cup with a single scoop of something sinful ;)

And when I saw this adorable digi from Fresh Brewed Designs, I thought of how nice it would be to {eat!!} make a triple decker chocolate cupcake stack.  This fun and whimsical image is available in the store ~ the sentiment is computer generated, compliments of my son's exhuberance :)  It's colored with prismacolor markers and paired with some DCWV Sweet Stack paper in .... of course ..... chocolate and mint, hee hee!  And used the required sketch because .........

It's sketch challenge time at the FBD blog!   Here is the sketch for you to use this week:

Remember, you can rotate it, flip it, just keep the basic sketch pattern and use your FBD digis and play along ...  FBD digis are not required, but we'd love to see 'em if you have them! We'd also love to see what you do with it!  Enter your challenge card {starts Wed!} here!

Thanks for stopping by today -- Blessings and hugs!

Bringing you friendship today :)

Happy Monday to you!  And Monday's mean a brand new challenge starting this week at Deedee's Challenge Blog ~ and this week we are celebrating Friendship and fellowship!  Today's card brings you the sweetest lil piggy called "God's Way" :)  This is brand new from Deedee's Digis and Deedee has a brand new feature called Dollar Digis - that's right, a whole section of amazing digi stamps for just $1.00!

For this sweet little piggy, I made a joy fold card - haven't made one of those in forever!  I added the sentiment on the inside - a special one for me since it's the one you may have seen on my emails in my siggy - I'm honored to have it chosen for this friendship set! {thanks, Deedee!}

For this card, I ooed and awed over the new SU! In colors and went with Blushing Bride, paired it with some DCWV mat stack "Flower Shower", added the image colored with prismacolor markers and it's held closed with a Big brad from MM.

I hope you get the chance to play along this week!  Check it out here!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs and Blessings!

I'm ready for the WORLD CUP! :)

I'm soooooo ready for the finals of the World Cup!  Although my coveted German team is now eliminated winning the World Cup 2010 title, I can at least cheer them on for 3rd place and help dh celebrate his home country bring the title home, too! :)  We've had a lot of fun dueling this week but not as much fun as I had making this adorable soccer monkey
You can find him in Deedee's store here!

I plan to give this to dh on Sunday so I made it in his home country colors (red & yellow are the Spanish flag) and squeezed in a little black to give it some texture and break up the "McD's" looking color palette, lol! ;)   I have a scrapbook page in the works as well so be sure to stop back by later on :)

Big hugs and Blessings!

*~* It's pure Bear-a-dise! *~*

Happy 4th of July!

I hope today brings you a day of relaxation and fun and all things wonderful! We are heading to the beach in a little bit but it's looking quite gloomy and very overcast! (tons of rain yesterday - crossing my fingers for our beach & BBQ plans!

I'm also super happy that Germany is advancing to the semi-finals in the World Cup! Woohoo!
Today's card is Deedee's *What's Shakin'* set and it's just as cute as can be ~ and my DT sample for the Embellishment challenge going on over at the CDAC! We'd love to see you stop by and show us you card using jewels! You can enter your card HERE! You can enter your card from now until July 14th - make sure to use the tag cdace1, deedee and it gets even better! Deedee has provided you with a freebie you can use - an adorable Flamingo!

For my card, I used the adorable bear image, colored in prismacolor markers and added some bling to her flower, grass skirt and a petal/stem to a flower that was on the paper. This paper is soooooo delicious! It's shimmery and soft, subtle colors of grey, baby blue and a brighter terra cotta color - a sweet birthday gift from my incredible friend Judy! (muah, thanks, sweetie!) I matched it with some Gina K cardstock I bought awhile back (Sweet Mango - don't you just love the name!) and some Baja Breeze from SU and tada! I'm also excited to have been asked to join the Alphabet Challenge Blog and this week you'll see that the letter of the week is "J" for jewels! So many places to play along and have a fun week :)
Blessings and stay safe!
xoxo

*Aloha!* Friendship is the Sweetest Flower :)

Isn't it though?! Life is such a blessing and through all of lifes ups and downs, the trials and all the unknowns, I've found that my sweet friends have really been much of what keeps me grounded, and keeps me going!

Of all the travels dh and I have taken, Hawaii was definitely one of our favorite trips - and the pictures of the flowers are still fresh in my mind :) I'm also blessed to have one of the most beautiful hibiscus plants growing in my garden, planted as a memorial tree for my dad. It's grown from 12" tall to over 7' now and the blooms are so beautiful and fragrant! And what an inspiration for making this card!

I was aiming for a postcard look using The Sweetest Flower ~ I really wanted this gorgeous digi image to stand alone when out of it's card - I think this is a Criss-Cross fold (been awhile since I made one of these!) and used my Green at Heart Basic Grey papers.

Mahalo for stopping by today! And dont' forget to head over to the CDAC and check out the all-day long Luau going on!

And, for an added bonus, for the month of July only, Deedee is offering a limited-edition, gift-with-purchase digi! How cool is that!
Place any one order of $15 or more, and receive this "sand-sational" teddy for free! He's only available for this month, and then he'll go into "hibernation," so be sure to get him while you can!

Isn't he cute!!
