Calendar Girls - Mother's Day ♥

Good Morning, blogging friends!
I cannot believe it's almost May!
Before we know it, it will be the SUMMER - yes!
I can't wait!  That not only means having my babies home (yay!)
from school but a much needed break for me - hee hee!
I love the summer so much ♥

But I'm getting ahead of myself!
I'm actually posting my Calendar Girl card (a day late - shhhh!)
Carol was our hostess this month and her theme was to create a card with a Mother's Day
theme and use the color pink or red.
About my image:  It's really an old stamp that I saw and just HAD TO HAVE,
seriously, like 8-9 years ago!
I spied it in a card magazine and tracked it down - they were unavailable
and I sat and watched ebay for forever.  One day, it popped up!
I had 2 of my friends along side me watching it and luckily, I was the only bidder - so my .99c treasured stamp means the world to me and I was
glad to ink it up (again!) for this challenge.  I stamped it in
Kiwi Kiss to offset the colors in the paper ~ it just didn't look right
in my Momento black ink.  It felt right to put some matching color on it
since it's a 'stand alone' stamp.  Up close, as you can maybe see,
it's very Monet' - a tiny series of little dots!  Love it :)
I spied this GORGEOUS color combo challenge at
the Cupcake Inspirations blog and just had to use it!
I also followed the sketch at Paper Players #193 this week, super pretty ♥

Carol asked us to share a special memory about our mom ~
one thing that stands out amidst many wonderful things about her is that she can multi-task in the most wonderful manner!
Growing up in a military family, we not only moved around all the time,
but she was a wonderful baker, chef, seamstress, party planner, etc!
In between sewing handmade dresses and clothes for me,
clothes for my dolls and the dolls themselves, but was always making
a blanket, quilt, wedding cake, the entire bridal party dresses, foods for
parties, etc!  I don't know how she managed it all ~ I'm barely able to get
meal on the table at night with all the food groups covered, LOL!
I love my mom and she's an amazing lady,
always someone I aspire to be like in many ways ♥

Be sure to stop in and see what the other Calendar Girls made
with this wonderful theme!
I'll enter my card into The Paper Players 193

Big Hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Spring Garden Joy! ♥

Hi, friends!

Today is my day to post a DT card on the
Whimsy and Stars Studio Blog and for today's card,
I chose this darling Spring Garden Joy ♥
 Isn't she sweet?!
Hopefully most of you have Spring temps and beautiful flowers
 blooming by now :)

For today's card, I went with a bright, vivid paper choice to balance
so much of the white of the image.
The image is cropped a little bit to fit into the frame-lit that I've used ~
you can see the entire image here!

And .... one of the best parts of the Whimsy and Star Studios digis is
they are an instant download!

Blessings to you this wonderful Easter weekend!

Bunny Riley ♥

Happy 15th!

This is always a fun day of the month to post on ~
as this 15th thankfully isn't all about taxes! :)

The new Riley and Company challenge for the next two weeks
is to create a CAS card :)
Straight up - I'll admit it ....
I don't do CAS :)
I love it! I do!  I do!
I drool over so many of them I see 'round blog world!
I just can't quite seem to get the hang of it :)
While my card started out as such using little scraps of dsp
from my 'use me, please!' pile,
I'm not sure if it's exactly simple enough.
No matter - I love how this turned out and
I'm one Easter card ahead of where I used to be - a win/win! ♥

For my card today, I used Bunny Costume Riley ~
what fun he is having in his bunny suit!
You can enter the Riley and Company challenge here on the blog.
We'd love it if you did!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

*Simple Sundays*

Hello, sweet friends!

Our weekend just flew by and in the blink of an eye,
here it is late Sunday eve!
We've been having wonderful family bonding time
and enjoying the splendors of the outdoors,
my favorite place to be ♥
Although the weather here is simply beautiful,
we know in a short few weeks it will be scorching hot
so while that tropical breeze surrounds us with all it's splendor,
we take full advantage! :)

I have a card to share today for my Simple Sundays,
heading to a friend of mine who is battling cancer.
My card ended up being a little busier and brighter
than I had intended, but I just kept layering and layer
the different dsp scraps I had one hand {and burlap} to see which ones I wanted to use and ended up using all of them :)

I added buttons and twine to finish it up,
along with some ric-rac.
This is one of those 'made with lots of love' cards ♥

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

I'll enter my card into:  WordArtWednesday - Anything Goes

Carriers of Faith: All God's Children ♥

Good Morning, sweet friends!

Forgive my short post today, I'm going 100 mph in 100 different directions
with no chance of stopping in the next few days.  I see lots and lots of Starbucks coffee in my future! ♥

Today the Carriers of Faith post our monthly cards based on a theme
chosen by our hostess. This month, Carol was up and her theme
and scripture are just wonderful!   This is what she said:

Theme: "All God's Children"...  For your card/project and/or photo, please create something depicting a baby, child, teen, adult ("as we are all special in his eyes")

Scripture: "And Jesus took a child and put him in this midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me. " ~Mark 9:36-37

Please forgive my card!
I ended up rushing and I am quite unhappy with the results
I have so many stamps with little children/teens/ladies on them but just could not find my mojo or wrap my head around an idea :(   I wish I had a better card to showcase on this hop as I did so love Carol's theme.  Alas, time is up and this is what I have to show. Rather than interrupt the hop, I'll post this and fix the card sometime today :(

I'm using a Whipper Snapper stamp lovingly sent to me by Barb ~ what a thoughtful gift and reminds me so much of my son .... a darling, faith-filled, prayerful little boy!  Thank you, Barb! ♥

If you are hopping along, you should have arrived from April's
amazing blog!  From here, you'll continue on over to Barb's
beautiful blog and see what she's made today.

Thanks for hopping along with us!
Big hugs, Bigger Blessings ...

How do we color Riley?

How do we color Riley?  Let me count the ways! :)

We have something fun for your today from Riley and Company!
We would like to show you all the ways our Design Team colors
Riley the Moose!
He's being showcased colored on certain DT blogs with the different
coloring mediums that we all use.

Most of you know probably that I color my images with
Prismacolor Premium markers and LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
l know most of the universe colors with Copics :)
But I do so love my prismas so much, and I'm so pleased with the color spectrum they offer and their blending abilities.

For my card today,  I used Under the Tree Riley.
I use a variety of colors when I ink up Riley or Sophie.
Riley on my card today was colored with:
*Pale Peach (PM11)  and Light Peach (PM12) for his cheeks/nose area,
*Sand (PM70) or Light Tan for the body,
*Mocha Dark (PM200), Walnut (PM90) and Light Umber (PM172)
 for the antlers and hooves.

Getting started :)
And my finished card!

I also wanted to remind you that we have a challenge on
the inspiration blog going on - make a monotone card!
Ink up your Riley/Sophie - even FunnyBones stamps
and play along with us ♥

Please be sure to head on over to the Riley and Company blog
for this special edition of Color Up Riley!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Spring Garden Chickie ♥

Good Morning, friends!
I hope your weekend was wonderful :)

Today is my day to post on the
I am using the adorable digi Spring Garden Chickie ..
here she is up close:

I colored chickie with prismacolor markers and nestled into
a card base of papers in my 'please use me!' pile :)
I kept the embellishments to a minimum on this card
to let the image be the focal point.

Whimsy and Stars now has instant downloads from the shop ~
No waiting, instant crafting!
We also offer certain stamps in rubber form as well
so you have the best of both worlds to get inky and color.
You can see Spring Garden Chickie and so many more
images here in the shop.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Big hugs, Bigger Blessings!

Riley and Company goes Monochromatic!

Happy late night Tuesday!
Two posts in two days!
I know, right?!
Sometimes I like to surprise myself! LOL!

I'm late for the party today but I waited all day for the camera.
Long story short ... I thought my oldest daughter had it in her car.
She said she didn't.
I insisted that she did.
She laughed and said "ha ha! I get it! It's April Fools!"

Except .... I wasn't joking!
and ... she didn't have it.
It was in my beach bag all along.

I so totally knew that!

So .... you may have seen the new Riley and Company challenge
this week is all about monochromatic!

My card today is using Be Kind
and it's one of the many Funny Bones available in the shop ♥

And be sure to stop in and see what the rest of the DT
has created for you - you will love the collection of beautiful cards!
Want to play along?
Link up your monochromatic cards to the Riley and Company Challenge Blog

So glad you could stop by today!
